9/20/11: Oh well, summer is over, kids went back to school, my foster mom runs around busy and.....YOU STILL DID NOT COME VISIT ME!!!! Made some progress though, met a lot of people who said I was lovely, sweet and all those things that made me blush....but they either had unfriendly dogs or they wanted a puppy...or a senior....UFFF talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time, hehe! At least I get to spend a little less time in the cage as my foster parents got organized with all us doggies. And I am starting to think about the fall, long walks looking at the leaves change colors, hummmm, Halloween trick or treating with me for dog cookies, on Thanksgiving, throwing under the table whatever your folks cook that you don’t like, and me gulping it, YUM......Can you picture your life with me? TRY!!!!! I promise I won’t disappoint! Word of a boxer!!!!
8/16/11: Hello there, I am Riley’s temporary foster mom. I wish I could keep this absolutely gorgeous young lady! I have three other dogs in the house, two of them not too friendly with other pets. I had to bring Riley in as an emergency because she was living in a very precarious situation, 24/7 in a cage too small for her, in a dark and smelly place, with tons of stuff placed on top of the cage so she could not even see through….nobody deserves that, especially such a good natured, obedient, agile and clever girl like her, so lovely that it transpires when you look at her face….the face of a good dog!
Some of you disregard her after looking at her face because it’s not 100 % the face of a boxer…..I CAN TELL YOU SHE IS A BOXER INDEED!!! WE LIVE WITH HER, I TRUST HER WITH MY KIDS AND MY KIDS’ FRIENDS, AND I ONLY DO THAT WITH OUR FAVORITE BREED. So….give her a chance, come visit at least, perfection does not exist, but if it did, I would believe I am fostering her now…
7/11/11: Well, well, well, this is Riley with a lot of news!!! I am the new spokedog for the Rescue" Lose The Weight" program and I got to tell you, we could put Valerie Bertinelli with Jenny Craig out of business, that good I am looking!
Remember I was living in a cage, in a dark, no ventilated place for several months? Well, ladies at NJBR started walking me, taking me to the vet, providing the flea and heartworm medication, and FINALLY, they moved me to a foster home!!!! Ok don't get over excited, foster family is taking care of too many dogs, so I still have to spend a lot of time in a cage, but in a nice, sun filled room, with radio, a new doggie bed, and frequent human company….They also chipped in for an out of this world grooming session, I tell you, I could get used to this luxury! I get walked around a nice community with another foster and it feels great….You know what would feel even better? If you came to visit, I know you would have a hard time leaving me, because as my temp foster mom says," I have the face of a good natured dog". What can I say? I AM A BOXER!!! Call me, Rufffff!!!!
6/15/11: Hello dear humans! My name is Riley and I am your typical boxer girl, sweet and in need of love….
My owner has a very small place and there are two of us pets, so we spend almost the whole day in a cage. I wouldn't mind if it wasn't because it's been several months and I am getting a little claustrophobic, you know what I mean? The ladies at NJBR have started to take me for a walk every day, and it's great, but I get very sad when they bring me back and I get placed in the cage again!!! Like I said, I am a boxer but I've heard that my grandma had an "indiscretion" with a mastiff (very gentle breed) who swept her off her 4 feet. It's hard to tell though…. The volunteers who visited with me say that I am very mellow, not demanding at all, and I would make a great companion to anybody who gave me a chance. Would that be you, perhaps? Will you come to free me so I can owe you forever?
3/24/11: Riley is a loving dog looking for a new home, she would be happy anywhere as long as she has someone to lay with. Riley is shy at first but, is trained, walks well on her leash, enjoys people and is crate trained. Her only drawback is she needs to be the only dog in the household, as she has had issues sharing toys and food with other dogs. Riley is in desperate need of a new home, since her owner has another dog, she is spending many hours daily in a crate.
In the right home, Riley would make a great addition to a loving family that would give her attention and understanding. We think she would respond very well to the change in scenery.
