8/30/11: WOOF WOOF, I have been here about a month and I really fit in. I am so proud of myself. They have bells on the door and I ring them and they let me out. Even in the middle of Irene HE got up and let me out. He even dried me off when I came back. Now that is cool.

So I adjust well to new places and food. Even the resident princess, Laila, is coming around. She wants to race and run and jump all the time. I sort of keep up with her but she is fast. This jumping on to the sofa, bed and people is not my style, at all. I have taught her counter cruising but I got caught and now SHE doesn’t leave anything. Laila has taught me to throw the Kong and treats will come out, love it.

Best part of this place is that they talk so nice to me. They pet me, give belly rubs, take short walks, throw the ball a lot, and they let me alone to sleep 6-7 hours and I am very happy for that. Sometimes when I get excited at seeing another big male dog HE doesn’t even yell at me. HE was going nose to nose but I got the hint so now he pretends he is Caesar Milan and nudges me with his foot. I straighten up real fast. Put me in the back yard with another big male dog and we run and play. I guess I have a thing for leashes.

THEY are going away for a while and I get to visit other houses. I know I will be fine wherever I go. SHE says I communicate; He calls it sit-down-strike. It works. Want me to show you??????

7/20/11: Do you love boxers? Do you love their spirit, their courage and their playfulness? Do you hate raising a boxer pup? Are you sick of wiping up urine, poop and vomit? Do you want to save your good bedspreads, armchairs and wooden cabinets from destruction? We all have been there and my foster mom did not want to do that ever again. So she took me in and I became an immediate member of the family. You see I don't need any training. I know all the commands and then some. Even the resident princess, Laila Ali, has taken to me. We aren't cuddling yet but we walk and run on a leash together very well. When I walk on a leash I never pull anyone, I never push to get ahead and intrue boxer style I do not retrieve anything.

My name is Max—my first family named me after Max Schmeling. In case you don't know, he was a heavyweight world champion boxer in the 1930s from Germany. He just died in 2005 at the age of 99.5. I am proud to be named after him. When I see children I would love to play with them. I think I would like cats too since I am a very mellow fellow. I just want to keep you company, play mush face, take a walk every once in a while and share your life. Because I am a gentle giant, my foster mom thinks I would be good children.
